The REMEO® centers aim to minimize the patient’s dependency on a ventilator to the lowest level achievable. The lowest level of dependency might range from only nocturnal mechanical ventilation needed or - in best case - to liberate the patient from the tracheal cannula and convert the patient from invasive to non-invasive ventilation and / or normal breathing “decannulation”. Weaning can either be an integrated part of our Long/Short Term offering or the sole focus of a REMEO® Centre.
An interdisciplinary team with therapists with a high level of knowledge and experience on the management of long-term mechanical ventilation (LMV) is working on the rehabilitation processes. These processes take into account the patient's disease, neurological and nutritional status among others. REMEO® has a high success rate in the weaning and decannulation of patients having the highest standards of quality and causing minimum risks to the patients.
