A patient's medical or clinical condition is often very complicated and can be difficult for a lay person to fully understand. In this section, REMEO® offers a simple and brief description of the diseases that are most prevalent in our patients.
Diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Cystic Fibrosis, as well as certain neuromuscular and neurological diseases such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) can be associated with mechanical ventilation.
Mechanical ventilation therapy may also be required in cases of severe injury of the spinal cord, brain or chest trauma and conditions associated with hypoxic brain damage. Additionally, patients with fibrotic lesions following a Tuberculosis infection, Post-Polio Syndrome or certain congenital and heart diseases often require assisted ventilation.
REMEO® patients range across all ages and genders.
In REMEO® the most prevalent diseases are:
Lung diseases: COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Post-Tuberculosis
Neuromuscular diseases: ALS, DMD
Neurological diseases: Cerebrovascular Diseases, Intra-cranial Haemorrhage
